Hey everyone!
Wow! It's been 2 months since my last blog post. I'm so sorry for the delay. I've been vacationing in Mexico and working tirelessly on a couple of new cooking show projects - stay tuned on more details for those.
I didn't want to leave you hanging though because my breakdown of my trip to Mexico will certainly need a bit of time to dedicate so I wondered what to write you. I thought about mentioning some of my favourite food bloggers since it's a bit of a @#$%show to navigate through. There are many respectable food bloggers whose recipes work out and who are incredibly creative. Here is my top 5 and why!
And, why now? Not only the holiday season but even AFTER can be riddled with guilt and stress. I'm not a psychologist but it would be nice to be able to enjoy this time of year without having to feel as though we need to have been binge dieting. My intention has always been moderation, whatever the circumstance. And while I still struggle with this, I know it's achievable so why not approach the new year with a conscious mind and nourish ourselves with food that make us feel amazing!
Here are some of my favourite blogs that don't compromise flavour for health. If I missed some of yours, please let me know in the comments section below.
1. Against All Grain
paleo, kid friendly, family food
This blog and cookbook author is a great start if you're interested in cooking from scratch again with a bit of a modern paleo twist. Why paleo? Danielle Walker shares her story on her blog and went through quite the transformation.
Try: Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins
2. Cravings in Amsterdam
innovative, wholesome, sometimes indulgent
This girl knows no bounds when it comes to food styling and recipe creation. This is the kind of food blog that makes me get up off my @#$ and cook, damnit!
Try: Sushi Tacos
3. The Gouda Life
next level comfort food, snacks galore
Kelly is a local favourite of mine who is an amazing photographer and recipe developer. If I could eat #allofthedairy and #allofthegluten I would make every single recipe of hers!
Try: Jerk Spiced Salmon and Mango Salsa
4. Oh She Glows
vegan, vibrant and for all skill levels
This blog is quote popular but if you haven't heard of it and want to dive deep into what's new and happening in the world of vegan recipes this is your new favourite website. Some recipes are quite labor intensive and some are quick to whip up in 15min. I like this approach since it's a great way to teach yourself how to make delicious plant-based meals.
Hope you enjoy these picks!
To a happy and healthy 2017.
