St Patrick’s Day is here! I’m excited to share this Irish Seafood Stew with you. It’s a simple, straightforward dish that turns out amazing in the Ninja Foodi. I learned this Irish stew recipe in cooking school at the Ballymaloe Cookery School and have adapted it for the Ninja Foodi.
This gluten and dairy-free shepherd’s pie recipe comes together in one pot – the Ninja Foodi! This is the more North American version using ground beef and vegetables as opposed to the traditional Irish version using leftover roast lamb. Some call my version here a Cottage Pie
No strainers are required here as the mashed potatoes are pressure cooked, the filling is pressure cooked and then crisped up to perfection all in one appliance. Hope you enjoy this easy ground beef shepherd’s pie. Add this one to your list of one pot meals.
Colcannon is actually a Halloween dish. What makes it unique is the folding in of cabbage or kale throughout the mashed potatoes and topping it with a giant pat of butter. Be sure to enjoy this on your St Patrick’s Day celebration!

The influence of Irish culture is very strong in Canada but I never thought I would end up going to Ireland until I found the mecca of cooking schools was situated there. I trained at the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland. It was for their 12 week intensive where you live on their 100 acre organic farm and learn the nitty gritty of all things farm to table. Basically, it was a 2 year college program condensed into 3 months.
